Nyonya Food @ Abu Siti Lane

There are many nyonya restaurants locate at Penang island. But I prefer the most was the nyonya restaurant which located at Abu Siti Lane. Before this restaurant (Nyonya Breeze) moved, it was located at Tanjong Bungah. There have the nice beach view and really enjoy eating there. Now they permanently moved to Abu Siti Lane and the restaurant had the AC system, it's more comfortable to eat there!

My uncle was the loyal customer. He always brought my aunt and little cousin there to enjoy the nyonya food. Last year December, he brought us to taste for nyonya food! It's really a good nyonya dinner. Let's see what we had ordered.

I managed to take those photos because that time my camera was run out of battery. Anyway, I recommend everyone of you go and take a try on this restaurant! It's really worth and will not cost much! It's located opposite Red Rock Hotel. The location is easy to find and you should be there!

On 24th of November when my aunt's birthday, my uncle brought us to Queensbay Mall Kim Gary for the birthday dinner. Anyway it's one of the popular restaurants in Queensbay Mall! It sell Hong Kong with the oriental meals and it suits everyone! By the way let's take a look what we had on that day.

I had a bowl of Bak Kut Rice. I thought it's special when I looked at the name but when it served, I just realized that this was just simlar like the homemade rice. XD! What do you think?

My sister had herself a bowl of char siew rice. It contained many of meats which suit her very much! XD.

My aunt(the birthday girl) had a plate of Spagetti together with fish pieces. I think this was more worth than mine.

My grandma had a bowl of Pork Meat Rice. The taste not bad and contained many ingredients!

My cousin had himself the Cheesy Egg FriedRice! It looks like delicious and it suit most of the teenagers... But the price was not cheap. A bowl of this rice is about RM15.

My cousin had a seafood rice which he love seafood so much. The special features can be found was the octopus inside and contain of fish, egg, prawn, crab... It worthed for RM19.

Lastly my uncle had himself an HK Style Oyster Fried Rice. It's worth because of the pieces of meat and some oyster beside it! From my uncle, he said it's not bad the taste and he recommended me to try out next time!

Kim Gary serves the delicious HK style food. I think mostly the people would like the food because it is not all oriental food nor western food. It serves everyone's taste and every Chinese! You should take a try at Kim Gary Restaurant!

Recently I had eaten a lot of Chinese Kopitiam cuisine which nearby my house. Actually today what I want to recommend for you is the new open kopitiam which located at Kenari, Sungai Ara. I went this place on the night of my birthday. I don't have such a grand birthday celebration this year, I just celebrated with my family members that's all.

Curry Fish Head, it's spicy and delicious! Good. Rating 8/10

This was my sister's favourite. She likes this plate so much and she enjoyed having the sauce of this fried chicken on her rice... After I tasted it, that's not bad! Rate it 9/10

Kana vegetables fried with siu bak(pork meat). I like the soup... Not bad. Rate it 7/10

The pot of mixed dish was so nice. I love the Tao Gua very much with types of onions and mushrooms. This bowl of dish suit those children very much and the soup can mix with rice and there will good for children. I rate it 8/10!

This is the signboard of the kopitiam. When you travel to Sungai Ara, please turn into the Jalan Kenari and straightly go to the Palm Garden (phase 1). Opposite the terrace houses you will see one kopitiam there. Next to this kopitiam is a low cost flat, try to look for it.

After traveled the whole Cameron Highland trip, we went back to Penang and enjoyed the dinner at Sungai Ara. Anyway, it's more cheap compare with the price from other places. I love the local style and it also near my house.

We had ordered some fried vegetables, belacan fried chicken, mushroom cooked mix, steamed egg and many more. Let see what we had ordered:

This was the fried chicken that we had ordered. It tasted nice and really have the local style of the belacan fried chicken. My sister and I love this so much!

Next, we had a bowl of mushroom mixed. It fried with some other kind of materials. I love this bowl of meal very much because the mushroom was my favourite!

Lastly come out with a plate of steamed egg. It steamed with some kind of tasty sauces. It was tasty. That day I ate about three bowls of rice to complete up all the dishes!

Actually when you go there, you have to called one guy who named Ah Lai to help you order. He will arrange the dishes to you and set all the prices for you. I ensure you won't RUGI la... I will show you the map of the location.

I think this will be a long time ago happening. By the way I still need to update it and share with all of you. I would like to apologize to those supporters who always come forward and read about it. I promised I will be update this blog at least 1 post a week. Anyway, you can just refer to my main blog and remind me too.

Continue with the last post which we had lunch at Cameron Highland. At night we went to the famous restaurant which recommended by 阿贤(Astro). After we ate that I feel really reasonable the price because it not really cost much. Anyway, everything there were organic it's good for our health! Let me show you what we had eaten:

All the vegetables were organic whereas they also provided us some seafood items together with some eggs and noodles.

Later on, everything put inside to the plate and boiled up the soup. The smell comes out so nice and I taste for the soup was so sweet. I like the soup and I drank more than 5 bowls! XD. Inside the soup contains of many ingredients!

Then the location actually is nearby the Star Regency Hotel, you can either walk there or drive there. As you can see the shop front view will be like that:

Today my grandmum and my dad were going out to attend my relatives' dinner at Traders Hotel. Just left my mum, sister and me at home. So my mum brought us to the nearby restaurant for our dinner. Actually this restaurant was just opened for only two more weeks. It named Yummy which running into the high standard eastern restaurant in the Sungai Ara area.

I don't think the others can fight against it. Because it's style really looks like Old Town cafe with chinese feeling. Talk about it's food, I think there were still not bad but still can be improve. Just now we didn't have the rice dinner and we just have a light personal dishes. I ordered Bai Kut Ba Rice, my sister ordered Singapore Fried Bihun and my mum ordered a dish of Char Hor Fun.

The outer view of the restaurant was nice and standard. I think the concept of this chinese restaurant was copied the idea from some Francais shops such as Old Town or any cafe. It's also provided WiFi and the style really looks like a cafe. Inside still have one LCD TV showing!

What we have was one (not a bowl) but I don't know how to mention this. It was made by cane tree wood. It's a quite creative style serving the dish and looks like nyonya style. Creative 10/10 but the taste okay la! This cost us RM 16.

A plate of Char Hor Fun was ordered by my mum. I think it's not bad but the quantity of Hor Fun was too little and it will not suit me if let me have this. RM 4 per plate will it cost expensive?

I have a plate of Bak Kut Ba Rice. It's made by Pork meat with some soup on top the rice. Before ordered I thought that's a plate of fried rice with meats. But at the end coming is one plate of plain rice with only some pork meats. Haiz... that's really wrong ordering! Luckily it just cost us RM4.

Finally I can conclude that this restaurant taste can still be improved but the quantity must increase! As the price at that area still considered high, if not this restuarant really can't survive! Hello guys, I am lacking of time to update this blog. Sorry to everyone, by the way I had search some random photos from my photos storage. I found that I have missed alot of photos haven't share with all of you. So I take my opportunities to write something about it.

I know that this is already belated because almost CNY have a lot of meals. Dinner, Lunch etc. Anyway, do you like shark fin soup? Shark Fin Soup is almost included in Chinese Culture Dinner, it's almost come out as the 2nd meal.

Do you like this 2nd meal? I think almost kids like it because of it contains of something like soup with the good ingradients. Hmm.... delicious! The ingredients contains of course have sharkfins, meats, crab meats etc...

I am very sorry to all readers that I was ignored this blog update again for over one month long. Now already end of March and I just update for it. Recently this blog is halfway dead and no visitors at all.

But now what I want to show you is some fresh and I will rebrand this blog as soon as possible! Be sure you always check out the food blog here. Thank you for first! =)

Today what I want to introduce to you is my grandmum homemade Mee Sua Soup which I ate when I having dinner last week. It's a good taste and the delicious soup. The Mee Sua not the local buy mee sua, it's from Thailand actually. -) My grandma cooked it with big quatities of ingredients and fulfilled our dinner.

Can you see how big is the bowl and the soup is full on top of the bowl! Do you want to try it? Hahax. You can come my house one day and I call my grandma to cook it and let you try. XD!

By the way, I really impressed for my grandma's cooking. My mum was not a good cooker or maybe she's still not yet old enough and no very much experience to cook. I love my grandma and thanks to her for everyday cooks the dinner for us! Thank you grandma =) Posted by GenYong 29.03.2009

Hey guys, omg I lost myself in this blog for nearly one month. Sorry for that and I hope all of you can forgive me. Recently I really busy on the school reopen, tackle for a lot of homework and many more. Anyway, I make my short update here with the food that you like!

On 1st of January after did my new year shopping, we went to the Corner 21 which near to the Phor Tay High School to have our dinner. Morning we have Kuey Teow T'ng but at night the uncle only sell on Bihun Soup and also Tomyam Mee only!

This is the bowl of Bihun Soup. It contains a lot of ingredients such as fish balls and many pieces of meat. The soup was so tasty and the Bihun that provided is 'match' with the soup. Nice taste and I was full after having this.

Next, my mum have a bowl of Tomyam Mee. Actually it's special on the Tomyam Soup whereas the mee is only the normal noodles from instant noodles. Wow! It's damn spicy after you have this bowl of Tomyam Soup. I sweat along after having this bowl of soup! Really spicy but good taste! I rated this dinner as 8/10. Posted by GenYong 22.01.2009

Happy New Year guys! The day before new year eve, is my cousin birthday. He born on 30th of December on year 2005! The day that he born is the day before new year eve. And that year he was countdown in hospital with my aunt.

By the way, last year he also celebrated his birthday as well, but it was at home. My uncle invited us to CRC Restaurant at town city of Penang. I heard from him that he mentioned that he did many surveys from people that said CRC is the best among all the orient restaurant in Penang, are you believe?

Do you been this restaurant before? This was my second time been there since I know the environment. The first was while I was studying primary year 2/3 (not sure).

This was my cousin birthday cake. Is it cute enough for kids? Haha. He love Mickey Mouse Family very much! So the cake always will be Mickey Mouse.

I wondered that how come my uncle will order a shark fin soup(鱼翅) for us. It's costly if ordered this kind of dish. But doesn't matter, because he rich enough! LOL. It's really delicious and there were many ingredients inside. Have a lot of seafood such as crab meat, fish and many more.

This dish was the first and also the fastest we finished it. Why? Because the service was not good and there was too many of customers, so other dishes was lately come!

Next, we have a curry prawn. I don't like prawn very much because I found that's lousy to separate out the shell of prawn, so that it will make my hands dirty. But this changed my opinion, the curry is really tasty if you eaten with some rice!I ate 3 prawns out of 11 prawns!

Besides you can eat with rice, you can also get some bread and eat with it! What we have here is a butter bread. It's slightly oil and have butter smell in the bread. It's different of the whole meal bread! Nice.

I'm not sure that what's this dish. I ate this for only once and I found that there was mixed fried. I think they were frying with meats, vegetables and many ingredients else.

Roasted Chicken? I ensure that you can buy it from Chicken Rice Shop right? No matter is in food court or hawker stalls, the roasted chicken is better than this.
What bad for this dish is because there was not really a good meat of chicken provided. They provided the meat that hardly to bite. That's why!

I like this dish so much! It's my favourite among all the food, I like vegetables with mushrooms and many more. I think every kids will love it right? Eat more vegetables to prevent constipation! That's true!

After blowing the candles, wish for the good. Then my uncle was divide the cake equally and I get a piece of it! This cake was not really special but the taste not bad. I prefer the Secret Recipe's cakes. I hope I get it for coming birthday, still long time to go!
