Penang Road Cendul

Hey guys, sorry for long time not yet submit those updates. Anyway, I am GenYong here wish everyone happy new year and have a nice day on year 2010! Alright let see what new restaurant or new shop opening this year... Actually if you're a Penangite, you will realize that there was a Komtar Walk that contain a lot of restaurant and shop. There have Station 1 cafe, Penang Cendul and many more.
Komtar Walk outlet.
Come on, today I would like to write a blog post about Penang Cendul. I would like to recommend what features on this bowl of Cendul.
The bigger bowl of cendul served in the restaurant!
They actually is from Penang Road which located at Lebuh Keng Kwee. Now they open their another outlet which just near the originated site, it's Komtar Walk! I think there were not much different except the price and the environment. The Penang Road is just a hawker stall and those customers have to stand and eat and only cost you RM1.70 compare to the shop, you can find a place to sit and enjoy the bigger bowl of cendul which cost you RM2.50! I tried both before which on today and last month!
They located at Lebuh Keng Kwee.
The hawker stall at Penang Road.
The bowl of Cendul.
I think the hawker stall is more worth if you just want to taste the cendul. If you need a place to make discussion I suggest you to choose the Komtar Walk which just a few metres from the hawker stall. Besides that they also have their outlets at Subang Jaya and Johor Bharu. I think you must go and take a try and comment it!
The Komtar Walk Penang Road Cendul new outlet. The better environment but the same taste! It's original.

Curry Mee at Perak Road

This afternoon my parents fetch me back from the Adventist Charity Food Fair and dropped by to Perak Road. We had our tea time there at the curry mee stall which opposite the Harmony View Apartments there. Anyway, I still remembered my dad had brought me there before to eat the curry mee. But it was very long time ago which the old uncle also passed his stall to a young guy.

My dad recognized the young guy and he always went down to there every week in the purpose to taste out the curry mee. I don't think it's my first time to have the curry mee there. However I more prefer the taste of the old uncle because it taste more original and delicious.

I like this bowl of Curry Mee very much. Although it didn't taste spicy but the soup seems nice! I cannot eat spicy dishes because I will sweat after ate. I love the soup very much and I ate until empty the bowl! Later the Tauke saw it was very happy and asked me delicious kah? XD.
Sweetmeats
After having my curry mee then I ordered a bowl of sweetmeats to 'wet' up my mouth and tongue. This sweetmeats actually not very tasty but seems I was too thirsty then I quickly drink it finish. I think it was not bad and you can take a try.

For more details to this place, you can simply refer to the map that provided below. Actually it's an opposite the Harmony Square which just completed by Belleview Group. Go and take a try, it cost reasonable and I am sure that's no longer this price can be find in Penang. The curry mee one bowl for only RM2.00(small)! Take a try... Posted by GenYong 01.11.2009

Tea Time at Old Town White Coffee Kopitiam

OldTown
The outer view of Old Town Kopitiam.
When we came back from Cameron Highland, my mum's friend brought us to visit Ipoh. He took us go around Ipoh buy stuffs and had a tea time at Old Town Kopitiam. We went to the original Old Town Kopitiam which located at Ipoh city. There were crowd of people waiting for the servings and almost were tourists.
White Coffee
The first choice of Old Town that's their White Coffee originated from the Old Town. I had ordered one and really it tasted good.
Lo Mai Kai
My aunt had ordered Lo Mai Kai for my cousin to eat. It tasted not bad and I can rate for it about 7/10.
FishBalls Soup
My uncle had a bowl of FishBalls soup and we tried it. It seems no many difference from Penang taste but it's something special in it.
Chee Cheong Fun
This plate of Chee Cheong Fun seems looks like our local Chee Cheong Fun right? Anyway, this stall of Chee Cheong Fun had a Penang style and the soup was different from Penang.
TaoGe Mee
My sister had a plate of TaoGe Mee(Hokkien language). Actually Ipoh there have a special for this which called 芽菜面. It was full of the bean sprouts and the whole dishes turned into sweet because of the freshness of bean sprouts.
Char Koay Teow
A delicious Penang local Char Koay Teow. I don't know why the Ipoh people can make it same like Penang style. I love this so much and it let me remember our Penang Char Koay Teow was so delicious. Cheer up Penang food!
Egg Tarts
Lastly we had taken away some egg tarts. I like the egg tarts because of it was freshly bake and it seems still hot. When you put in mouth, you can taste it was too delicious and bring out the sweetness inside your mouth. I am sure you will feel not enough after you have eaten one!

I think next station I will still write about Ipoh food. Check out HouLiao avenue! Posted by GenYong 25.10.2009
